Dr. Rachel Bolton-King is an Associate Professor of Forensic Science at Staffordshire University, specializing in firearms and ballistics. She is a Technical Advisor for the Association of Firearm and Tool Mark Examiners, Professional Member of the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences and incoming Editor-in-Chief of the Science & Justice journal. She works on multi-disciplinary, international projects, particularly focusing on the manufacturing, non-destructive detection, examination and analysis of firearms and ammunition. Over the last 10 years she has published numerous research articles and book chapters, and has been a speaker at various international conferences and industry events. In 2019, She was awarded a Winston Churchill Fellowship researching the people, processes and technologies used to advance firearm investigations across South Africa, USA, UK and France. She is keen to support the development of academia-industry partnerships, for example through the Staffordshire Forensic Partnership and the development of Research4Justice (www.research4justice.ac.uk), a centralized platform sharing open access research relevant to international justice systems.
