Shri. R. Suresh

Shri. R. Suresh, born in 1975 has qualified post graduation in Forensic Science in the Forensic Science Department affiliated to the University of Madras, Chennai during 1997. He is the First Rank holder of M. Sc. (Forensic Science) and recipient of Prof. Dr. P. Chandrasekaran, the President of Forensic Science Society of India Medal 1997 from the then Hon’ble Governor of Tamil Nadu Smt. Fathima Bevi. He has more than 20 years of working experience in the forensic laboratories. He started his career in the forensic laboratory as Scientific Assistant (Ballistics) in CFSL, Kolkata during 2001 and served as Senior Scientific Officer (Ballistics) and Assistant Director (Ballistics). Presently, he is working as Deputy Director & Scientist ‘D’ (Ballistics) posted at CFSL, Kamrup, Assam. During his tenure, he has published 10 journal articles and 25 conference papers in national & international levels. His area of research includes firearm identification, range of firing, gunshot residue, image processing applications, etc. He has represented India in Interpol (CBRNE) meeting held at Columbo, Sri Lanka during 2019 and delivered a presentation.
