Dental Bioarchaeology

The bone and teeth of humans have provided invaluable information to scientists when studied thoroughly. The skeletal remains can conclusively provide details about the age, health and gender of the individual. Dental Bioarchaeology deals with the study of teeth of the humans recovered at the archaeological sites along with other evidence which can be helpful to relate the individuals. When decomposed, the only part of the body which might remain accounts for teeth, outlasting the bone of the individual. Dental remains will reveal the health of the individual, and they can also reveal details about a person’s diet, including their nutrition, ancestry, and age.
